# Versioning policy

> How external API compatibility is managed.

The current surface is external API v1. Additive fields and new operations may be released without a version change; clients must ignore unknown response fields. Breaking changes require a new version or a communicated migration path. Existing v1 routes and wire payloads remain the compatibility contract.
